DAY 62 – Geraldton

Good Morning Geraldton!

Low 7°c (45°F) – High 21°c (70°F)
0km

With 10 days worth of washing and a dog that hadn’t had a bath in 2 weeks – there went my day.  This is the reason why I like to try to get washing done every three or four days because 10 days worth of washing in a 2kg machine is a long haul.  Don’t get me wrong – the machine is awesome and has saved us a fortune over the years having paid for itself many many times over, but there is a limit to how much you can do in one load and being a twin tub you can’t just leave it and come back half an hour later and hang things out.  The other problem was line space and the fact that we are now in much cooler temperatures – things take longer to dry of course.  It took until around 3.00pm to get it all done and then into the shower went the smelly furball for a complete spa and trim.  It was almost dark by the time I finished trimming up her feet and I was so tired I could have gone to bed then and there.

During the day – Sam Hughes – The Travelling Jackaroo (https://www.facebook.com/thetravellingjackaroo) – pulled into camp.  I’ve seen Sam’s rig posted many times on the caravan forums on Facebook but had no idea he was in the area.  He’s a young man doing such an amazing job raising money for some great causes including the Royal Flying Doctor Service and so of course Shane wandered over to say hello and take a few photos and handed over a small donation.

It was surprisingly pleasant sitting under the awning throughout the evening although it did get a little cold and I had to pull out the really warm stuff.
